(term 1 actually started on the 29th but shhhhhhh im not horrifically late 100% totes)
Term 1 is ONNNNN!! Honestly though, I'm pretty happy about it--I spent the holidays doing fuck all so. yayy. some PURPOSE IN LIFE!!!! Of the holiday homework I was assigned, I did a grand total of a third of it (oops). Did not read Picnic at Hanging Rock for literature and did not make that cell cycle video for bio. Only did my maths assignment. And then I printed a new copy and redid it because I checked it against my friends' and half of my answers were different lol.
Already there are assessments (no chill <\3): maths holiday assignment was collected today, literature had a gothic narrative collected today too with a response on it next Monday (cooked)
And with the return of school ofc comes with the beginning of musical rehearsals!!! I've been allowed to attend rehearsals/practice as an ensemble member, but do tech jobs on show nights (thx stage manager + drama teachers). Only thing I have to do is sit out during blocking so there's not one person conspicuously missing in the shows lol. It's so I get the experience and practice of doing musical ensemble stuff (i rlly gotta learn to sing and dance) but also backstage/tech... hopefully the skills I'll get will help me out of the theatre studies hole I've dug myself into by picking this cursed ass subject. I have to get experience somewhere so I'm not done if I pick acting and lighting design for theatre studies unit 3/4 in Y11 or 12.
(Like I KNOW its going into my bottom 2 no matter what I do but. AUGHHHH ITS SO GOOD ITS SO FUN I <3 THEATRE STUDIES ITS GONNA SINGLE HANDEDLY CAUSE ME TO MISS UNDERGRAD MED SINGLE DIGIT ATAR HERE I COMEEEEEEE)
The time commitment isnt that bad; I'm not lead/featured dancer, so it's just Sunday rehearsals and no after schools. Watch me complain endlessly about rehearsals as mid year exams come up lol :D
SIDE NOTE NEXT WEEK WE'RE SEEING DEAR EVAN HANSEN IM SO EXCITED RAHHHHHH SCHOOL PAID FOR OUR TICKETS!! AND 37 TOO!!!! I swear I won't be like 8 mins late to transport like I was in headstart....
